Savannah, Ga – Part 2

Our four night stayover was long enough for a couple of forays into the city to walk between the town squares and admire the stately old homes. In part 1, Pat and I walked around a bit and had a great anniversary dinner. In part 2, I’ve mainly included a few more photos that I liked. Hope you do too. It was great to see all the Christmas decorations on the grand old homes. Savannah, Ga part 2 plus some other thoughts…

Our route to our winter destination in Florida included our favorite city in the southeast. Coming back north in the spring, we may take the western route and not be able to make this Georgia stop. But we have now been here several times so it is time to add some new places for our journey.

When we first started out as full time RVers most all the country was a new exploration. Exciting and waiting to be discovered. As we now enter our 4th year, we are now part time explorers. And facing a decision whether to go to our favorite destinations or go to new places. The small risk being the new territory may lack the attraction. But, we would not know it unless the place was added as a several day stop to explore.

We now have less time in the RV. About half to be exact. Less time to travel and see new places. That is why it is even more important to have a good travel itinerary with places of interest.

I’ve got to tell you though, almost any small town, village, or crossroads has something to offer. A good hike, some history to check out, or a seldom visited museum often times staffed by very knowledgeable volunteers. Ask them a couple of questions and you may open them up to share all kinds of interesting finds.

A western route back to Virginia could include the states of Alabama, Tennessee, and North Carolina. The only small issue is the timing. It can still be rather cold in March and April. Our current plans are to leave FL on March 1st to be able to have some extra “road” time before returning home.

And then there is the summer of 2021 plan. To stay or do we go? Stay at the new to us home as enjoy the place in the “prime” weather time or cut into that and take a month or two long RV trip. More decisions.

I think that it will be a winner either way to decide. We are indeed blessed to be living this life. Take care and God Bless.
