Newington Connecticut; ARRL Headquarters Visit

Visiting the ARRL headquarters in Newington Connecticut has been on our travel itinerary for some time. This place is a must do for those involved in the Amateur Radio hobby.  Kind of like the Mecca for hams.

Gillette Castle and One Hot Day in Connecticut!

One of the reasons that we traveled to the far northeast this summer was to escape the crazy heat and humidity of the southern states.  Well, today that plan did not work out so well.  We knew it was going to be a warm one, so left early to arrive at Gillette Castle soon after they opened just a few miles from us here in Connecticut.  What an incredible place! Connecticut; A New State!

A new state for us, Connecticut!  We have now relocated twice since our stay in Bar Harbor.  The first was in Boothbay, Maine for one night, then to Hampton Falls, New Hampshire for two nights, and finally a longer travel day today in the southwest direction to the small village of Moodus Connecticut.  Normally, we like to travel no more than 150 miles and stay a week in a location, but sometimes we just need to cover some more distance.
