Llano Grande Events – Mercedes Texas

In this blog, I’ll review some of the larger events held here at the RV park/resort since we arrived in mid-December. It has been a busy, but very relaxing time since we arrived – almost two months ago!

I’m not sure what has happened to time since I retired. It has accelerated like a 900 HP Ferrari! I retired just over a year and eight months ago. It seems like yesterday, although we have seen and done many things in this time. Maybe I need to go back to work again to slow things back done. No, scratch that idea, the workplace frowns on our 4pm happy hours.

Rio Grande Valley Texas – Quilt Show & Some Thoughts

As I write this, I’m watching the morning news. The cold weather Up North and the federal budget are a couple of the main stories. The temperatures in Chicago got to minus 22 degrees, but not quite a record cold. Wow! John Steinbeck was quoted as saying “What good is the warmth of summer, without the cold of winter to give it sweetness.” Now that I am wearing shorts and flip flops and sitting on the warm southern US border, I can actually see the wisdom in that!
