As we are about to embark on our 4th year of travels I thought it might make sense to write a blog update about the blog itself. Just my thoughts as they occur about the reasons to create and maintain this documentation of our retirement journey. I have often wondered myself…RV Travel Blog – Year 4
Clermont, Florida – The winter travel break is a time to kind of relax from the chores of being on the road. Don’t get me wrong. We still love the travels all over this great country, but there is a small downside in the stress of relocating the 41 foot beast of a fifth wheel trailer to new and unknown destinations. During the 3-4 month winter season, in the southern warm climates, we do get the chance to just relax, but we also tackle any annual maintenance, begin on the new spring/summer/fall travel plans, and some other stuff thrown in as well.

After a great month of January, we packed up and left the JOY RV Park in Cocoa on Feb 1st for the short drive to the southwest of Orlando. Our new home location is the very fast growing town Clermont Florida, with a population of 37,000 people. This location is just a few minutes from the Disney theme parks and still has a small town feel even though it is just next door to Orlando. We recently had a trip to Disney for lunch and a few days later, I managed to hit the large amateur radio convention (hamfest) called the Hamcation.

And so we have come to another full revolution around the sun and another birthday for me! I can remember back to when being another year older was pretty cool stuff. Being closer to driving. Being closer to age 21. After that there were some milestone birthdays for sure, such as each decade. Then came 50 years old with the sobering thoughts of having 2/3 of my life in the year view mirror. Well, at 66 coming up soon, here are my thoughts on the matter…
This will be my last post from our month long stay at Cocoa, Florida in the JOY RV Park. In this update, we visited with some family, met some new friends, visited the Kennedy Space Center, watched a rocket launch, and much more!

We are back to the 5th wheel coach after ten days of vacationing aboard a cruise and a quick trip to Key West. It was a great time and we thoroughly enjoyed, but it is always nice to return back home. Rarely leaving the RV, it was nice to take a decent trip away from our “home.” We are back to RVing, in Cocoa, Florida!
All vacations have to end I suppose. So it is with us as a retired full time RVers. We left the RV all alone in Cocoa Florida for 10 days as we embarked on our Caribbean cruise and then a 3-hour drive to Key West, Florida. This is our last day in the southernmost city and I’ve tried to capture a few images to remember this truly unique city.

In my last update, we debarked from the cruise and headed south on US-1 to the quirky little island known as Key West, Florida. For a few years, before retirement, this was our go-to vacation place.
