This was a low miles/stress travel day at 93 miles from Ives Run COE park in Tioga PA to Waterloo NY. It was a little rainy at first, but it turned out to be a very nice day. Due to some start and stop driving through some small towns, our fuel mileage was only about 9.5 mpg, and at $3.59 the cost was $35. Not too bad.

Wow! What an awesome sight that we experienced in viewing the Niagara Falls. It is difficult to really prepare for the massive size, the roar of the sound, and incredible water volume of the falls. When you are walking the path up to the falls you begin to see the top of the water, but cannot see the entire falls until you walk right up to the steep ledge and then it is almost more than you can comprehend. This was a nice short commute of about 65 miles to a state park near Youngstown, New York. Folks, this park is on the extreme northern border of New York right smack on the shore of Lake Ontario. Talk about some fantastic sunsets and cool and quiet nights for sleeping. Our campground shoreline had a western exposure. We moved about 125 miles on this leg of the journey and stopped in Byron NY for a midway stop on our way to Niagara Falls and Canada. A good short distance without any driving issues with the big 5th wheel. Our campground was the Southwoods RV Resort in Byron NY which is in the north west section of the state. While they had some very nice facilities, we were in an overflow lot with way too many other campers jammed into the space. We were there for two nights – July 14 & 15th.
