Tallahassee FL

Today was a moving day from the Destin area to a one night stop over in the capital city of Florida.  It was smooth sailing all the way with good roads and not a lot of traffic.  We took I-10 for the most part and it was in very good shape.  Thanks Florida for keeping the roads in good shape!

Miramar Beach FL to Tallahassee FL

The park here is Tallahassee RV Park and it is conveniently located just one mile off of the I-10 interstate.  The park has 52 sites and the are all pull-throughs and ours is plenty long enough for the big rig.  They have somewhat level gravel pads with blacktop roads through the park.

Our campsite. I left the truck attached since it was just an overnighter.  It saves about 1/2 hour for tomorrow morning.
We could park both vehicles and the camper on this long pull through.

After we were set up, we walked around the park to look it over.  They have a small pool and a very nice, homey rec center.  So we picked up a couple of games from the RV along with a beverage and took them over to the rec center for some games before dinner.

The rec center at the park. Very inviting to bring some games.  That is Trish waiting to beat me at Dutch Blitz.

Our destination on the east coast of Florida will be in the Cocoa Beach area, commonly known as the Space Coast.  We plan to stay there for the month of December and 2-3 weeks into January.

This segment  of our trip will be focused on helping my mom downsize and sell her home as she prepares to move into a retirement facility.  We will need to quickly have the house placed on the market and help her with a disposition of the many household items.

It just seemed like yesterday that I attended Dad’s retirement dinner 26 years ago.  My parents then sold their home in Ohio and moved to the house where mom now resides.  Many memories over the years for sure.  But this marks another chapter for mom, just as with my retirement we moved into a new phase.

We are just beginning to plan out our 2018 travel itinerary.  It has been on my to-do list now for a month.  Just so many choices.  We may try to move up the east coast to the Bar Harbor Maine area for July.  Still many details to work through.  Then maybe Texas for the winter of 2018-2019.

Tomorrow we knock off another segment with a drive southbound to the Ocala Florida area for the night.

Take care and God Bless.
