Forgotten Coast of Florida

From our last location on the gulf coast we continue soaking up the Old Florida character by relocating to near Apalachicola Florida. This small old fishing village is found on the “Forgotten Coast.” From their website: Franklin County Florida, also known as the Forgotten Coast, is nestled in the panhandle of the Sunshine State. This beautiful region has been dubbed the Forgotten Coast because it’s the last remaining stretch of unspoiled, pristine Gulf Coast beaches that haven’t been overrun by high rises and strip malls. New Kitchen Progress Report

The kitchen remodeling project is finally making some progress. If you remember, we signed the contract and made a down payment in late October to hold our place in line. The basic plan was to completely remodel the kitchen and replace the flooring in both the kitchen and adjoining room. The further plan was to have all work completed in three months while we were gone south for the winter! Will they make it? Below is an update of the good and the bad…

Cedar Lakes Woods and Gardens – Williston FL

Another local gem that we found in Williston FL is the Cedar Lakes Woods and Gardens. It is a botanical gardens that was built around an abandoned stone quarry. We were not sure what to expect, but this was an incredible surprise. There were many fountains, waterfalls, ponds, and many overlooking terraces. And the trees, plants, and flowers were in the thousands and all over the place.
