We listed our home on the Zillow for sale by owner website a couple of weeks ago and had an offer after one week. Yikes! It has now progressed to a written contract and is scheduled to close in a little over a week. Things are moving along crazy fast. But you never know until the cash is transferred.
As we were preparing to sign the contract we thought long and hard about this step in our journey. Is this really what we both wanted? We truly love this part of the country with the almost perfect weather and a great home that I had customized to exactly what we wanted. It was a difficult decision, but it is time for a change to move on into the next phase of our lives. We can always buy another home in whatever location that appeals to us the most.
We are looking forward to life on the road in just a couple more months. My job was to end in early April, but now I have been asked if I would stay through early May. Ugh… The back-fill for my position has just taken much longer than planned which began back on Nov 1st when I gave my intention to retire. I really want to have a good transition and ensure that my employer is covered. Maybe it is the 44 years with the company through many good and bad times. Interesting times ahead.
