Myrtle Beach SC & Mount Airy NC visit

On our recent RV hunting trip to the dealer in Myrtle Beach, we arrived kind of late in the day to go out and see much of the area.  Kind of a bummer, because it is a beautiful area with much to see.  We did manage to get up early for a walk on the beach before rushing over to the RV dealer when they opened.

One of my favorite things about the coastal areas is the many fresh seafood places to eat.  Here is one that we tried and it was very good.  It must have been very popular as well since the parking lot was filled when we passed it last night.

While we did not find the RV that we wanted on this trip, it did help to rule out some other brands.

On the way home from Myrtle Beach, we stopped in Mount Airy for lunch and to walk around the quaint little town.  I love the older historic sections of our smaller towns.  I find the architecture on these building is still much better than the more modern look.

The small bakery had many interesting sights; and some yummy food.

As you can imagine, much of the town tries to make some connection to the old Andy Griffith show.  I do like that show for the classic comedy back to a time when things seemed much less complicated.

Then it was back to the wide open parking lot on a Sunday afternoon.  No door dings!  It is now 4.5 weeks until my last day of work.  An enormous list of things to do before we sail off.  Going back to a simpler time and place like Mayberry was a good way to relax for an hour before we finished the drive back home to Christiansburg and the to-do list.

Have a good day!
