This is the last stop on our 11 day tour of Italy. I’m trying to capture what we saw and some of my thoughts on each area in this blog. For other travelers and to review myself over the years. Capri Island is just an hour by boat off the coast of Sorrento Italy. It was another up early, catch a bus, then a boat to the island, then a boat tour around the island. It was spectacular!
Capri Island
Capri is a small island in the Tyrrhenian Sea off the coast of southern Italy. It is known for its stunning beauty, its glamorous history, and its luxurious lifestyle. Capri has been a popular destination for centuries, attracting artists, writers, and celebrities from all over the world.
The island has 13,000 residents and tourism is the primary driver of the economy. It is comprised of the lower part (Capri) and an upper part (Anacapri). We had some free time to explore in both sections. Anacapri is more quiet and laid back and has the best views.
One of the main attractions is the Blue Grotto, a sea cave that is illuminated by sunlight that enters through an underwater opening producing a bright blue color.
There are many cafes and bars to sit and relax while enjoying an aperitivo and plenty of shopping opportunities. I took many photos and only added the best in the series below. It was a very photogenic outing!

We arrived

Outdoor cafes everywhere
As soon as we arrived from the ferry we boarded a smaller sightseeing boat to circumnavigate the island. We saw the entire island from the water before actually exploring the island itself.

Wrap Up
Capri is a truly magical island, and it is no wonder that it has been a popular destination for centuries. With its stunning beauty, its glamorous history, and its luxurious lifestyle, Capri is a place that you will long remember.
This is the last post of our Italy travels although I may add one more post to review the pros/cons of this tour. There were many fantastic aspects, but also there were some things that could be improved upon. The tour company did hear our review comments and come back with a financial adjustment.
Next up are some spring and early summer activities around our Virginia mountain home. Take care and God Bless.

Stunning
