Deerfield Beach

We found a small motel to spend the night near Miami. A five hour drive yesterday through some congested areas. Not too bad, but I am certainly glad that we chose to drive it on Friday instead the day of the cruise. Nothing like being stuck in standstill traffic while watching the cruise ship leave the port. At least that was my concern. But staying the night here will make a lower stress one hour drive to the port just after noon.

Deerfield Beach

This area seems to be very upscale with the usual beach area along US A1A. Filled with condos and hotels. A couple of streets over is the main commercial strip with restaurants. The city has 87,000 residents so that explains some of the traffic.

The hotels and motels are all along the A1A oceanside route. Our little motel is one of the Old Florida style like many others. Very clean and neat and fully booked. It’s that time of year.

We arrived at about 4pm, got checked in and unload, then walked about 10 minutes down the ocean front board walk to a little place for dinner. All outdoors with a nice breeze off the ocean.

Then it was back to the motel to turn in early to rest up for the big day on Saturday. No photos today as I have a glitch with the new iPhone 13 using heic formats not allowed to upload to blog. I’ll get it figured out while on board.

Take care and God Bless.

  1. Less stress getting to the boat would have been my choice as well. I hate rushing and being late. Look in your camera settings for the settings for highly compressed photos. Enjoy your trip!
