Hamilton Missouri – The Quilting Capital of the World!

Our commute was a reasonable 185 miles south on I-29 to St Joseph Mo, and then east on US-36 to the small hamlet of Hamilton, Missouri – the quilting capital of the world! The interstate had some rough patches and construction, but US-36 was not bad to travel. Years ago, Pat’s parents (Ray & Pat), actually took US-36 from Indiana to Colorado in their truck and 5th wheel camper. It was cool to think that we were retracing a portion of their journey.

Sioux Falls, SD Tornado

Severe weather and tornadoes do not mix well with homes on wheels such as trailer parks or RV parks in our case. On Tuesday of this week, the weather service was predicting severe thunderstorms, but we have been through many while in our RV. Although the storm on Tuesday was much more than I have ever experienced and hope to never experience again! We are safe and here is a quick update.

Custer SD – Part 1

We had booked this place for a full week, knowing there were several things we wanted to see and do. But, it turned into a great week that was completely filled and we could have stayed longer, but we have this darned schedule that keeps us rolling in a southeastern direction. And we also survived the infamous Iron Mountain Road! There was so much to share that I had to have another two part update!

Sheridan Wyoming

The small town of Sheridan Wyoming really surprised us in how well preserved it is and how many businesses are located in the historic downtown area. It appears to be thriving! The old building architecture is beautiful, the town has several murals painted, and they have bronze sculptures everywhere downtown! It was a fun and interesting four days…
